Wixarika, also known as Huicholes, are an indigenous people who mainly inhabit the Sierra Madre Occidental region of Mexico, in the states of Nayarit, Jalisco, Durango, and Zacatecas. Their culture is known for its rich tradition in the crafting of handicrafts and their practice of ancestral religious rituals that involve the use of peyote as a tool for connecting with the divine.

It's important to note that the term "Wixarika" is the name they give themselves, while "Huichol" is a term that has been used by the Spanish to refer to them.

"Wixarika_adventures" does not intend to use their name in an inappropriate or disrespectful manner, on the contrary, their culture and name are the inspiration for this project.
